RMLHS Cheerleading

RMLHS will be offering cheerleading during the basketball season!  This will give students another extracurricular opportunity during the winter months.  We thank Trever Beagle for being willing to start the program. Cheerleading will be offered to any male or female student that desires to join.  Practices will begin Nov 14 and be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s from 3:45-5:30 at school.  Once games begin, practice schedules will be adjusted to fit the game schedules.  Students that would like to participate in both basketball and cheerleading will be allowed to do so and will arrange a time to meet with the coach and/or other teammates to learn the cheers and routines.  The athletic fee for participating in cheerleading will be $200 for the first year(covering the uniform cost) and $75 for following years of participation.  Those planning to join the cheerleading squad need to signup with Miss Presser by September 30 so that the appropriate planning and uniform purchasing can be done.  If you have any questions about this new program please ask!

Welcome Back!‏

Welcome back to school!  This week we will begin our athletic events.  On Thursday, our Varsity volleyball team will scrimmage at Faith Baptist in Longmont beginning at 4:00.  The JV players will not have practice on Thursday.  On Saturday, our football team plays their first game at home vs Gilpin County.  The game begins at 1:00pm at Niver Creek Middle School.  Niver Creek is located at 9450 Pecos Street, just North of the school on Pecos.  Admission to the game is $5/adult and $4/students- RMLHS students do not get charged admission for home games.  We hope you can join us cheer on the teams as our seasons get underway.  Blessings on your week-

A School Building!

Praise be to God! The RMLHS Federation has voted to approve the purchase of a multipurpose building for our school. This two year old, approximately 14,000 square foot, 18 unit modular building was made available to us for $1/unit (there will be additional costs of about $30,000 associated with moving the building). The current balance in our building fund will cover the costs of this purchase, and members of our Federation have generously allowed us to store these units on their farm. Our next immediate goal is to find and acquire land to use as a permanent home for our high school. Please consider a donation to our building program, especially during this time of rapid growth.

Location Change for 2011 Basketball Camp

Adams 12 double booked the gym at Northeast Middle School (our old facility for the high school) for our basketball camp next week.  We were just informed of this problem this afternoon.

Both the grade school and the high school camp will be held at Niver Creek Middle School, located at 9450 Pecos Street, Denver CO 80260.  This is about 4 blocks north of our new high school location.  The times for the camp will remain the same (9-11:30 for Grade School and 7-9pm for High School).

Thank you all for your understanding! We look forward to seeing all of your kids next week at the camp.

Registration

Thank you for returning your registrations. It appears that we will meet or exceed our enrollment projections for next year. A reminder that if you desire to receive financial aid you need to go to our school website at www.rmlhs.org and complete the FACTS application. Our Board in determining financial assistance uses this information. If you have this completed, it will speed up your registration process next fall.

Moving News

The move is still on for Tuesday, May 31st and Wednesday, June 1st. A company has donated their services in helping with the move. What a wonderful blessing that is. As a result, on Tuesday the move will start at our current location to finish any packing and cleaning that needs to be completed. If we finish there, we will take crews over to the new location to paint, clean and unpack some boxes. Wednesday, the moving begins at 8:00 a.m. at 11700 Irma Dr. This will be the heavy part of the move, so we could use as many hands as possible. It will involve carrying items down the stairs and into trucks. I hope that by the afternoon, we will be busy unloading trucks and boxes at the new school. Check the school website for any last minute changes to this schedule. Thank you in advance for help!

SHOES NEEDED

We need shoes of all varieties for the Prism Concert.  We would prefer that they be shoes that you no longer want and can be thrown away after the concert.  If you can provide shoes, please bring them into the office to Laura Boniek.  Thanks a bunch!

The Move

May 31st and June 1st have been selected as the moving dates for the high school. This makes a very convenient closure of our lease with Adams 12 and our new lease with Harvest Worship. Since it is the middle of the week, some people who want to help will be at work. Therefore, moving will actually happen from 4:30 – 10:00 p.m. on those two days. If you are able to come during the day on Tuesday, you could pack boxes, organize material, and clean. This will make the evening moves go more quickly and smoothly. Help could be used on Wednesday to unpack boxes and put items away.

Yearbook

The 2010-11 school yearbook was distributed to students on Monday. It is a very attractive yearbook. We hope you appreciate the amount of work the senior class and Ms. Muente put into the yearbook. As with all yearbooks, there are mistakes that slip by the editing process and this year’s edition is no exception. There were mistakes on names on the cover and in other places inside the yearbook. To have the covers redone is cost prohibitive, so we extend our apologies for those mistakes.

Pastor Walta Accepts Call

Two weeks ago, the members at Living Hope in Brighton called Pastor Chad Walta to serve as their full-time pastor. The congregation and the mission board have seen how the Lord has blessed his ministry there and would like to see the work that could be accomplished if he was the full-time pastor. Pastor Walta has accepted the call and will begin his full-time ministry there in July. Therefore, the school will be looking for a new Spanish teacher for next year.
