TSEF 9th Annual Chili Cook-Off

It’s that time of year again! Pull out your crock pots, ladles, and chili recipes and get cooking. The 9th annual Solid Education Foundation’s chili cook off is here!!

If you think your chili is the crème of the bean or you have a favorite chili recipe, you can prepare it for your individual church’s cook off. Each church will set their own date for their “mini cook-off” day and members will vote for their favorite chili. The winning chili from each congregation will advance into the final cook-off that will be held during the grade school basketball tournament on February 17th & 18th.

So turn on your stoves and have fun while you help The Solid Education Foundation raise money to award grants to students so that they may attend our area WELS schools. Thanks to your support and generosity, over $134,000 has been raised to date through this annual event. All donations received during January and February will be matched by Thrivent!

Federation Night

RMLHS would like to invite everyone to our basketball games on Tuesday February 14th. Our basketball teams will be playing Gilpin County High School at 4:00-GJV, 5:00-BJV, 6:00-GV, 7:30-BV. The games will be played at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church located at 6995 West 120th Avenue Broomfield, CO 80020. Those attending the games for the federation night will not be charged admission. If you have cheerleaders, our cheerleading coach has contacted you about participating in cheer routines with our cheerleaders. Please help us by inviting your faculty and student body. We would love to have many there!

This week we have 2 basketball games. On Tuesday, we play at Shining Mountain in Boulder- GJV-4:00, BJV-5:00, GV-6:00, BV-7:30. On Tuesday, we will be running an Early Dismissal Schedule and classes will be dismissed at 3:00. On Friday, we play at Community Christian School- GJV-4:00, BJV-5:00, GV-6:00, BV-7:30. Directions to these schools are found below. A reminder that Friday is another eligibility check point. Also just a heads up… Picture retakes are schedule for Monday Feb 6. Blessings on your week!

From I-25 take Highway 36 to Boulder. Highway 36 turns into 28th Street. Take this to Violet Avenue and turn left. Stay on Violet all the way into the school parking lot.
Alternate directions to avoid traffic: From Highway 36 exit at Foothills Highway (Highway 157). Stay to the left at the “Y” intersection. Stay on Foothills Highway through all of the Boulder cross-streets (Pearl, Valmont). Turn left on Jay Road (this is shortly after Foothills Highway turns to the east). Turn right on 28th Street (also Highway 36). Turn left on Violet Ave. (this is the first left after you turn on to 28th Street). Stay on Violet all the way into the school parking lot.

Rocky Mountain Lutheran High School is preparing for our second annual Gala Dinner and Auction which is set for Friday, March 23^th at 6PM at the Arvada Center (70th & Wadsworth). All funds raised will go to the RMLHS Building Fund. All will be invited.

We are asking for generous donated items that can be auctioned at the event. These items might include gift certificates, vacation getaways, event tickets, spa days, electronics, or services that you could provide (ie. cleaning or handy man) etc. If you can donate an item or if you are in a position to offer matching funds, please contact Kathy Kieselhorst (Shepherd of the Valley). Dear students and staff of RMLHS,

Thank you so much for the gift of a beautiful plant and money at the death of Sue’s father, Walt Ring. The beautiful plan continues to remind us of the RMLHS community. Mr. Ring was an avid gardener, so the plant is very fitting. The money will be given to the high school to be used towards landscaping for the new school. Your thoughtfulness and prayers are appreciated as we continue our work here on earth.

2011 RMLHS Christmas Concert

The 2011 Rocky Mountain Lutheran High School Christmas Concert will take place on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 6:00pm, in the chapel of our building. The choirs will be jointly presenting the Christmas Cantata “The Heavens Are Telling” by Pepper Choplin. In addition the Concert Band will be performing several numbers. Please join us for an evening of music and Gospel interwoven.

The RMLHS Booster Club is offering their spirit wear items for a 2nd time! The items that are available for purchase are on an order form that is available at Miss Presser’s desk. If you’d like to order some Eagle gear you can fill out the order form and return with payment to the school office. The orders are due by December 5 in order to get it here by Christmas! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Eagle Choir Travels

The Eagle Choir is participating in the WELS National Choral Festival this weekend at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. There is a Pops Concert on Friday night and a sacred concert on Sunday afternoon. Both of these concerts will be broadcast via live streaming on the MLC website, www.mlc-wels.edu On the top right corner of their home page is a link to MLC TV. The Pops Concert will be broadcast at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, and the sacred concert at 2:00 p.m.on Sunday.

Jostens Representative Visits
