TASHCO Young Artists Festival Wrap Up

Congratulations to Josh Brown for winning Third Place in TASHCO Young Artists Festival, Senior Division! This was a very exciting contest open to all students in Northglenn. We would like to thank all of our students who submitted work. We received many comments on pieces of art created by Jenny Lohmiller, Tyler Beagle, Chris Coffey, Victor Reyes, and  Jessica Ekberg. Thank you for positively representing our school to the community. Pieces are now on display in the first hallway at the school; be sure to stop by and see the wonderful talent Our Lord has blessed these Artists with.

Student Survey and Parental Consent Forms

Dear RMLHS students and parents,

My name is Anna Doyle and I am a senior at Regis University. I am currently completing my final project for graduation. I am researching personal finance education for teens and writing a course specifically for this age group. I would like to survey all students in order to gauge how comfortable the average teen feels with different finance topics and also to measure the desire for a personal finance course. I will be mailing a parental consent form home for all students under 18. Students, please return this form,  signed by your parent, to the office in  order to take my survey. It should only take about 10 minutes for you to fill out, and you will receive a small reward as a token of my appreciation for your help in my project.

Thank you in advance for your participation,
Anna Doyle

Baseball Games Rescheduled

We are currently working on rescheduling the baseball games canceled on Friday, 19 and Tuesday, 23.

Focus on the Ministry (trip to Martin Luther College)

At noon on Wednesday, March 24th, Pastor Walta will lead a group of 8 Rocky Mountain Lutheran High School (RMLHS) juniors and seniors to Focus on the Ministry at Martin Luther College (MLC) in New Ulm, MN.  The students will have the chance to observe classes, stay with encouraging students who are currently preparing for service in Christ’s Kingdom, and have a taste of what that preparation is like together with the MLC college experience.  The trip will also include a short tour with former RMLHS students at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota.

The trip will make a stop and spend the night in Omaha, Nebraska, on Wednesday night.  We will arrive early afternoon at Bethany and return to New Ulm by 4:30 PM Thursday to begin the weekend activities.  We will return on Saturday night 3/27, no later than 10 PM.  Students will be invited to phone their rides when passing through Fort Morgan en route to RMLHS on the return.  Students attending will be provided the expense of the trip from our WELS Commission on Ministerial Education.  Meals will be provided while staying at MLC as well as their lodging.  Students are asked to bring their own money for remaining meals en route to MLC and returning.  Students are asked to bring pillows and blankets and perhaps a sleeping bag for nights in the dorm together with other necessary items for travel and lodging.

We thank MLC and our ministerial education board for providing this great opportunity for encouragement to RMLHS students for dedication to the preparation for service in his kingdom!  God bless our trip.

2010-2011 Financial Aid

If you are interested in getting help with your tuition for the 2010-2011 school year, please take a look at the financial aid section on the left hand side of our RMLHS website (rmlhs.org).  To apply for aid through the FACTS program (which is RMLHS aid), you have until May 15, 2010 to apply.  There is a small fee that you will be charged to have this done.  Your application will be considered by our tuition assistance committee after FACTS has made their recommendation.  Our Tuition Assistance funds through Rocky Mountain are limited so we suggest you look into two other options: ACE and The Solid Education Foundation.  www.acescholarships.org and thesolideducationfoundation.org  These applications are due by April 15th, 2010.  If you have any questions, please call Cari Ranger at 303-346-1947 or Doug Lowers at 303-434-5821.

Student Art in Local Festival

RMLHS Art Club has submitted many pieces of art to the TASHCO Young Artists Festival. Jenny Lohmiller, Josh Brown, Tyler Beagle, Chris Coffey, Victor Reyes, and  Jessica Ekberg will find out on Thursday how their pieces did in the festival.
The Exhibit Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony are held on Thursday March 4, 5-8 pm. This is during our Winter Sports Awards, but there are plenty of other times to see the artwork. The Gallery is open to the public March 5, 5-8 pm, March 6-7, 1-4 pm, and March 11-12, 4-8 pm.

The gallery is located at North Valley Tech Center, 500 E 84th Ave, Thornton in the West wing entrance Suite C-1, located off the southwest hallway.

This is a very exciting contest which does award cash prizes, but more importantly lets us represent our school to the community.
