Ministry Anniversary - Eagle Choir Sings

On Sunday, March 7, all are invited to join in giving thanks for the blessings he has bestowed on, and through, the ministry of Mr. Michael Schaefer. While most would celebrate a person’s twenty-fifth anniversary during their twenty-fifth year of service, we have decided to celebrate it in his twenty-seventh year. The festivities will begin with a service of thanksgiving at 2:30pm, at Zion Lutheran Church (2600 S Wadsworth Blvd, Denver). The Eagle Choir will be singing in this service and need to be at Zion by 2:10pm to warm up. Following the service, there will be a reception, with various presentations, in the fellowship hall. Appetizers will be served. A free-will offering will be gathered to cover the cost of the appetizers; any gifts beyond expenses will be donated to the RMLHS Scholarship Fund. Those who cannot attend are invited to send cards and letters to Zion Lutheran Church ATTN: Michael Schaefer 2600 S Wadsworth Blvd, Denver, CO 80227.

District Basketball Tournaments

Next Monday and Tuesday RMLHS will host District 8 quarterfinal games.  As the number 2 seed, our boys will play the number 7 seed, Cornerstone Christian Academy at 6:00 on Monday, February 22.  As the number 4 seed, our girls will play the number 5 seed, Shining Mountain Waldorf School at 6:00 on Tuesday, February 23.   If we win, we advance to the semi-finals and will play Thursday at a gym and time to be announced.  Win or lose on Thursday, we will play on Saturday at Arvada Middle School to determine the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place seeds from our district.  The top three seeds will move on to play the next week in regionals.  The tournament brackets have been posted on our website (also available here: Boys or Girls) and will be updated as the tournament proceeds.  Come on out and cheer on your Eagles!

PLAN Test

Each year, sophomores take the PLAN test which is one of the series of tests prepared by the College Board.  This test is to serve as a practice for future tests such as the ACT and SAT.  It also serves as a tool to assist students to see where their abilities lie and what possible careers there may be for them.  The sophomores will take the test on Thursday, February 18th.

Friday Half-Day; Monday No School

Friday, February 12, will be a half-day of school at the high school.  We will host the grade school basketball tournament on Friday and Saturday. A half-day allows visitors to visit the school as well as allowing our students to watch games in the afternoon.

President’s Day is Monday, so there won’t be any school or practices that day.

Basketball Games

The JV and Varsity girls’ and boys’ teams play at Shining Mountain on Friday.  The JV girls have the first game at 4:00, so all players will leave from the school parking lot at 2:30pm.  With a victory, the girls could finish in second place in the conference.  If the boys win, they will be conference champions.

Senior Night

Tuesday, February 16, is Senior Night at RMLHS. Join us at the games while we recognize our Seniors and the talents they have brought to the teams. This will be our last home game for the season, so help cheer us on to victory!
