RMLHS Memo

GREETINGS!

While there are no formal high school classes in session on the RMLHS campus, we are happy to still be busy. Basketball camps for boys and girls were completed in June. Volleyball and basketball leagues will continue into July. Some students are taking math classes this summer. Football and volleyball camps will be held in August.

REGISTRATION

The administrative staff is preparing the necessary forms and materials that will be mailed to all families in mid-July. These forms should be completed and returned on Registration Day, August 3rd, between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. New students and freshmen are invited to a light dinner beginning at 5:00 p.m. on August 3rd. They will attend an orientation at 6:00 p.m. and register for school after the orientation.

STUDENTS GRADES/RECORDS

Parents and students can view students’ grades and records online through our website. You will receive a letter on Registration Day with the information you will need to log in to read the grades and records.

SPORTS INFORMATION

Fall sports practices begin Monday, August 11th. Practices will be held in the evenings Monday through Friday until school begins. All athletes must have a current physical exam form on file with RMLHS before they can begin to practice.

EAGLE CHOIR

Eagle Choir will begin practices on Monday, August 11th. Practices will be held in the evenings one hour before the start of sports practices.

Because our web host has changed, our RMLHS e-mail has changed a little bit as well. We still access our e-mail accounts by clicking the “Webmail” link on the RMLHS web site. Our user names remain the same (i.e. first initial last name @ rmlhs.org). However, passwords have changed. Please contact Eric Brucker (ebrucker@rmlhs.org) for your new password.  All current students and staff have RMLHS e-mail accounts.

The main difference between old and new will be how your e-mail account handles SPAM. Most is blocked before it enters your mailbox. The small amount that comes into your mailbox should be put into a separate spam folder. These spam messages will be automatically deleted after one week. You can also mark a message in your inbox as spam.

Another difference will be the storage space. Our old accounts had 20 Mb; these new accounts have many hundreds of megabytes each.

Alumni, if you still need your RMLHS e-mail account, please also contact Eric Brucker to have that set up again.

Over the July 4th weekend, we are transitioning our school’s web site to a new web host. We would like to thank Darby Frey (www.electricshoes.com) for hosting our site free of charge for the last seven or so years.

We will lose old posts in our memo and the pictures in our gallery, unfortunately. E-mail will change for the better (more on this topic in a later post). Everything else should be as it was.
